About CampusIQ

CampusIQ is a vertical SaaS company for higher ed. We give universities a current, defensible record of what every space is and how it is actually used, so they can reallocate space, schedule it, plan capital, and defend those decisions.

We work with 60+ campuses — flagship R1s through small liberal arts colleges. 67% of our institutions are full campus. Software and services, built only for this market. We have doubled year over year, two years running.

US higher ed is more than 6 billion gross square feet. Campuses still decide a lot of that on stale inventories. That is the problem we sell against.

About the role

This is the first sales leader under the founder-CEO. You run the sales team, own partnerships, and present sales at the board. You are accountable for the number.

You inherit a small team of closers and an outbound calling motion. Customer Success owns renewals and most expansions. Marketing (demand gen, events, content, positioning) aligns under you so it points at the number. Seats to hire more sellers are already in the budget, including two this year.

This is a builder seat. You write the playbook, install the forecast, hire and develop the team, and make partnerships a motion that does not wait on a founder. Comp is on the team number, not a personal book.

The CEO stays in deals you put him in: accelerate a close, unblock a campus, walk into a room that needs the founder. He is not the default path.

What you will do

  • Own the number and be accountable for monthly, quarterly, and annual performance
  • Build, coach, and develop the sales team; hire the next sellers and ramp them
  • Own partnerships and turn them into a repeatable motion (reseller, energy, capital-planning)
  • Write the sales process: ICP, qualification, discovery, demo, proposal, close
  • Run a weekly pipeline and forecast cadence the CEO and board can inspect
  • Build pipeline with marketing: coverage, conversion, and what gets killed
  • Write the split with Customer Success so a deal cannot sit in both forecasts
  • Design a simple comp plan: new logo, multi-year deals, price integrity
  • Partner with Product on what the field is actually hearing
  • Use AI in the motion itself (research, committee maps, call prep, follow-up), not as a demo

What you bring

  • 8–12 years in B2B sales, including 3+ years leading people who carry a number
  • A new-logo number you owned in complex B2B, roughly $50K–$300K first term, through a committee that can stall for a year
  • Experience building or rewriting a sales motion (forecast, stages, ramp, coaching) at a company of similar stage, not only inheriting one
  • Closed and coached. One without the other is a miss
  • Pointed marketing or demand gen at a number, not at a brand calendar
  • Strong CRM and forecasting discipline (HubSpot or Salesforce)
  • You push back with receipts

Nice to have: first or second sales leader on a new-business double; higher ed, government, or another slow political vertical; channel or partner motion.
